TECH FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
This is one of the major themes and a lasting commitment of Viva Technology.
Together we will discover the various technologies and innovations that allow us to fight against global warming, preserve our planet and imagine more sustainable cities through the renewal of urban mobility, green construction, the fight for better air quality, and urban farming.
We will discuss the implementation of more sustainable business models: How to accelerate the energy transition, and promote ethical and sustainable technology, the circular economy and recycling?
The sessions in this track will allow us to examine how technology can help to produce and consume energy in a responsible way, or to preserve the oceans and biodiversity. But we will also discuss what the cities of the future will look like. How can we move around in a less polluting and collective way? VivaTech will present programming to address the environmental challenges of the 21st century.
Google is presenting an online series of talks, such as "How is the Travel Industry Responding to the Sustainability Challenges?" with Vincent Etchebehere (Director of Sustainability, Air France) and Arnaud Coiffard (Director of Strategy & Innovation, SNCF); or "An Insider's View of Industry 4.0" with Eric Marchiol (Digital Officer, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Renault).
Visitors at the Porte de Versailles and online will also discover the latest tech innovations. Some examples:
EnderOcean (Gironde), a project to clean the oceans with an underwater robot piloted by video game players; The SeaCleaners (Morbihan), a boat that rids the ocean of its plastic micro-waste (as small as 10 millimeters, up to 3 tons per hour); Aeromapper (Essonne - in the Discovery zone): drones to map or monitor agriculture, manage natural resources, etc.; EarthWake, who designed the Chrysalis, a machine that converts plastic waste into fuel using an oxygen-free combustion process; and PREDIRE (an innovation presented by Veolia, in partnership with the CEA), an autonomous robot for maintaining and inspecting wastewater networks – it can cover up to 1.2 kilometers per day in networks with a diameter of 20 to 30 cm, which is 70% of the wastewater network in France.
Aeromapper
Biobulb, a connected houseplant system that uses sensors and AI algorithms to grow plants optimally; Alvie (Ile-de-France), the first digital agronomic twin to optimize the use of phytosanitary products and resource consumption; Cueillette urbaine, a French startup selected as one of the 1,000 solutions approved by Solar Impulse, designs, installs and operates vegetable-growing areas on rooftops, on terraces, in courtyards... They use aeroponics, an above-ground cultivation method that uses 90% less water than traditional agriculture, in a reduced space and with up to 10 times greater yields; FARM3 (Doubs) is a leading “ultroponic” technology and device company which develops high-yield vertical farms for the production of more environmentally friendly fruits and vegetables; Papondu (Lab Ile-de-France) has invented eggs made entirely of vegetable and mineral matter, with the same culinary attributes as eggs; and Wind My Roof will present a roof-mounted wind turbine to generate your own electricity.

Heliatek (Germany), at BNP Paribas, presents Heliasol, a flexible photovoltaic surface which enlarges the range of possibilities for producing green energy. WattPark is a charging station for electric vehicles with a different kind of business model: after an installation order, the station is available to the whole community and its owner collects the revenues from its use. Living Packets, at La Poste, offers a secure, connected package that can be reused up to a thousand times before being repackaged, to reduce the impact of delivery packaging almost completely. Hipli, also at La Poste, is a reusable package for e-commerce that aims to fight against the environmental impacts of deliveries. The customer can send back his parcel for free by using the stamp printed in the material. Ruinart Second Skin, at LVMH, is a 100% recyclable and eco-designed packaging that matches the emblematic shape of Ruinart's bottles while preserving the integrity of the taste of Ruinart champagnes; and Fili Pari, which collects marble powder from manufacturing processes and transforms it into a resistant and waterproof textile fiber. Kippit, at Veolia, is a Toulouse-based startup that fights against programmed obsolescence and innovates with household appliances that no longer need to be thrown away.

Ehang, a Chinese startup, will present the first autonomous and electric air taxi (eVTOL). Already on the market, this new means of travel takes personal mobility into a new dimension. Just unveiled, the EZ-1 prototype belongs to the car-sharing category. It is the very first urban solution from the Renault Group's new Mobilize brand, intended for shared use and available for rental. Formula-e DS : the electric equivalent of the Formula 1 car, two-time drivers' and constructors' world champion since the 2018/2019 season. SolarStratos will demonstrate a flight simulator at VivaTech. GéoVélo, at RATP, helps accelerate intermodality in transport by offering a secure guidance system for cyclists. Air Liquide hosts Flying Whales, with a 60-ton whale-shaped airship with a rigid structure for retrieving high volumes of wood from landlocked areas. The Batteries for People startup, at Engie, has developed La Belle Batterie, a health certificate for electric vehicle batteries, and Antilope, a roaming and consumption prediction app for EVs. Milla is a shared autonomous shuttle for urban and suburban areas, which is already in circulation in the south of France. Oxicar, at Microsoft, creates the future of corporate carpooling. Teebike is the first cable-free smart wheel that turns an ordinary bike into an electric bike. Kiwibot is an autonomous electric food delivery robot for urban areas. Hopium (Ile-de-France) is the first high-end French hydrogen car, which will be officially launched at VivaTech.

Breeze Technologies, at Orange, is a leader in air quality sensor technology and the data management that goes with it. The startup, which is part of the FIWARE community, helps cities and businesses design effective action plans to clean the air using AI. DTS (Région Sud) provides UVc room disinfection robots to eradicate viruses and pathogens. Greenly, at BNP Paribas, allows each client to evaluate their carbon footprint according to their purchases and thus obtain advice to optimize their environmental impact. RATP presents Nano Désinfection, a startup that markets Liquid Guard®, a nanotechnological surface treatment to ensure continuous disinfection without the use of chemicals. Robota (Bouygues Group) is a highly efficient semi-automatic machine for removing asbestos from walls, designed to make workers' jobs easier. The objective is to provide workers with better protection during asbestos removal projects.
